Youth Ministry – Weekly Events

The Youth Ministry at State Street Baptist takes the love of Christ to a new level for 7th through 12th grade students.  At State Street, it is our hope that students will discover Christ’s amazing love, what it means and how this love is applied in everyday life situations. It is our desire that all students will grow in a relationship with Christ and serve Him in whatever way God is leading. There are several opportunities available throughout the week where students can experience the youth ministry at State Street:

Wednesday Evenings 6 – 8 p.m.

Wednesday evening is filled with fun and excitement for our students. Students begin gathering on the front lawn at 6 p.m. for games and icebreakers to help us meet new faces. Students then move inside for an exciting time of worship and/or drama. After this, students have an opportunity to experience the Lord through Bible study and family group fellowship. Occasionally, students are even given an opportunity to teach during this time.

Sunday Mornings 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.

As Students come in, we usually hang out from 9:15 to 9:30. There is usually something good to eat and the fellowship time is always cool.  We then begin with our weekly Bible drill designed to help us learn the books of the Bible. Our Lesson is normally taught by Mike Jeffcoat, a veteran youth Bible teacher who has taught in our youth department for many years and always has a very meaningful lesson. It is always our hope that Sunday School will enhance our students’ understanding of God’s Word and encourage them to follow Christ as a result.

Sunday Nights 6-7 p.m.

Sunday night is a little different at State Street. We try to encourage all of our students to serve God in some capacity. On Sunday nights, we hold a special training session designed to prepare students for our Wednesday night service. This training session consists of students who are helping with games, drama, worship, and teaching. This night of training is designed to plug students into the life of State Street’s Youth ministry so that students feel that they are a vital part of what God is doing in and through the youth ministry.
